Caring for the Terminally Ill Patients (Palliative and Hospice Care)

Course Description
As Kenya’s healthcare system evolves to embrace holistic approaches to end-of-life care, this essential training program prepares healthcare professionals, family caregivers, and support staff to provide compassionate, dignified palliative and hospice care to terminally ill patients. This course addresses the unique challenges of managing terminal illness in the Kenyan context, where cultural beliefs about death, family structures, limited healthcare resources, and home-based care traditions shape the caregiving experience. Participants will master pain and symptom management techniques, learn effective communication strategies for difficult end-of-life conversations, understand the psychological and spiritual dimensions of terminal illness, develop skills for supporting grieving families, and create care plans that honor patients’ dignity, cultural values, and preferences while managing complex medical needs—ensuring that terminally ill patients experience comfort, respect, and quality of life in their final journey, whether in hospice facilities, hospitals, or home settings.
Certification
Upon successful completion of this program, participants will receive a Certificate in Palliative & Hospice Care from Roman Vibes Ltd, recognized by healthcare institutions and validated by palliative care specialists.
